I got my book-Ravenclaw scarf finished in time for the movie yesterday. Go me!

It's the full version of scarf -- 14 bars altogether, and longer than I am tall...

Ravenclaw Scarf Ravenclaw Scarf

80 stitches round, this scarf was made following the atypically.knit pattern. I only cast on 80 stitches, and used a Montadale wool and mohair yarn from a local farm.

I have a hank and a half of the blue left, and half a hank of the bronze. I'm either going to make a tam, or pair of gloves. We'll see what works out.

Having seen the movie twice now, I'm rather wanting to make one of those all-house Hogwarts scarves. They're rather nifty, but also very dark and subdued, being mostly black.

Oooo, that came out very nicely. It also looks very warm. :D And is that you? You look so happy and cute. And from what I know of you, you're definitely a Ravenclaw. :D

Yes, that's me. I'm wearing blue and tan in that picture, because [livejournal.com profile] gblvr teased me something awful the day before because I was wearing a red sweater to the movie.

Unfortunately, I'm still getting over a cold, and I really needed the scarf at the theater -- they kept it really cold. And even a pound of wool wasn't enough!

Try clicking on it to open it in its own window. I did that and refreshed a couple of times, and it finally showed up. It's lovely.

Thanks -- I tried again and it's beautiful!

Actually, it's not quite wide enought to be a shawl or a stole. But it's a wonderful scarf to have, because it's double thick -- knit in the round, ya know -- and long enough to wrap several times.

Link a picture of the all-house scarves? Because they aren't springing to mind, sorry... I've only seen the movie once, after all.

And it looks great!

Neville and Dean are both wearing All-House Hogwarts scarves (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v400/yclept/potterdom/hogwartsscarf1.jpg)

And thanks. It came out well. We'll see how the Berocco Soft-twist looks someday, after I finish all the Xmas gifts.

Huh. Uhm. So they're... what colors?

I'm glad it came out well! And oh, that will be cool, post-holiday. ^_^

Mostly, the scarf is black, with four horizontal stripes of red, yellow, blue and green. Very subtle compared to the House scarves.

Hmm, that seems cool - I should watch GoF again and keep an eye out.

And it don't really take much to be subtle compared to the House scarves... ^_~

No, it doesn't take much at all. If you watch the movie again, keep an eye on Neville. He's wearing one of those scarves most of the time, and for sure during the Second Task.

...what, he's not as much of a die-hard pro-Gryffindor as everyone else? *amused*

Ah, so all-house scarves are the scarf of choice for discriminating non-rapid Potterettes? ^_^
