I got my book-Ravenclaw scarf finished in time for the movie yesterday. Go me!

It's the full version of scarf -- 14 bar altogether, and longer than I am tall... )

I have a hank and a half of the blue left, and half a hank of the bronze. I'm either going to make a tam, or pair of gloves. We'll see what works out.

Having seen the movie twice now, I'm rather wanting to make one of those all-house Hogwarts scarves. They're rather nifty, but also very dark and subdued, being mostly black.

As many of you know, I knit and crochet. I'm still working on a Quidditch scarf for myself(and still hope I'll have it finished for the movie premiere), but I recently finished a few projects.

A hat, another hat, and a shawl )I expect I'll be busy finishing up projects for the rest of the month as the holiday season approaches.
Well, the weekend went pretty well. [livejournal.com profile] tricksterquinn came by, dithered over her costume, drove up to Comus for heirloom apples, some squashes, and a blue pumpkin, went home, took a nap, and then went to [livejournal.com profile] penknife and [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra's Halloween Party. It was fun and just enough people for me.

Then on Sunday, we had breakfast -- Irish steel-cut oatmeal with creamed honey, fresh cream and pears with bacon for her and a perfectly done onion and balsamic vinegar omelet for me -- watched BATMAN BEGINS (Christian Bale! Cillian Murphy! Liam Neeson! Gary Oldman! squee!) and then went down to Woolwinders. The main purpose was to meet up with Marla from the Guild and retrieve my umbrella, but also to see what yarns [livejournal.com profile] tricksterquinn can tolerate and if there are any colors of Kureyon that would do for a winter sweater for [livejournal.com profile] penknife and [livejournal.com profile] artaxastra's munchkin.

We wound up sorting all the Kureyon like a pair of OCD yarn geeks, and found only a few colorways that were interesting and had enough balls for a kid's sweater. But while we were doing this, we overheard a guy talking about Star Wars while waiting for his Significant Other to pick out yarn.

Thus, we met [livejournal.com profile] starfallz and [livejournal.com profile] iii_demon and two of their friends. They were quite fun people to spend an hour or two with, talking Star Wars and rollercoasters and knitting. Maybe we'll run into them again.

Is it a bad sign that I want to make Baby's First DNA model for my upcoming neice/nephew?

This entire weekend was spent heads-down in knitting workshops.

Debbie New is a paragon among knitters! )But god are my hands tired! Two-and-a-half days of knitting will do that.
