The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is coming up in a month, and I thought this would be a good time to make plans and arrange carpooling for it.

I'm still trying to figure out how I can juggle the Greek Spring Festival in Bethesda and the MD Sheep & Wool on the same weekend.

Depends on what you want out of each thing. I will tell you, they are NOT going to run out of yarn at Sheep and Wool, though they might not have a rare brand after Saturday morning if you're looking for something specific.

And since that Sunday is Mother's Day, it's quite likely that it will be much quieter than Saturday.

Since I'm allergic to wool, I'm not betting on getting much yarn. I do want some knitting needles, though, and stitch markers - something fancier than I could get at any random yarn store.

At the Greek festival, I like hitting their rummage sale (a reason to go early) and tank up on lots and lots of Greek food (a reason to go later and then straight home.) Last year there were yard sales along the route there (a reason to go early) but on the other hand, the S&W Fest opens several hours earlier (a reason to go to the Fest first and then go Greek on the way home.)

It's one of those pushme-pullyou things that doesn't have a clear answer. And both run on Saturday and Sunday, so I have the option of dedicating one day to each, or a half day to both, but which?

I'd say one day for each, and do the Greek festival first if you want the best of the rummage sale.

Sheep and Wool will have plenty of non-sheep yarns for you to look over, though of course wool is the most common.

you seem to be missing an option for "that sounds like fun, but my head will explode if i try to plan anything right now." ;)

Take a nap and answer it when you're not worn out from a bonspiel.

btw, are you still up for Hokusai this weekend?

I don't know why, but I have this feeling that something is happening that weekend.... If I ever figure it out, I'll let you know.

Also - I'm going to try and go to Mekong River sometime next week -- you up for it?

Might it be Mother's Day that you've got plans for?

And of course I'm up for a trip to Mekong Textiles! You'll have to sit on me to keep from overspending, though...

No, I'm pretty sure it's something else.... As for Mekong, I'm pretty sure we'll have to keep each other from overspending.

I'm going to try to limit myself to enough fabric for one of the jackets, the jacket pattern itself, and maybe a fat quarter to make a handbag out of.

I was thinking I need to get at least a yard for my project, and I'll probably end up with fat quarters as well. I do have a really pretty skirt pattern that I might buy fabric for; I'll have to think about it some betweeen now and then....

Does Tuesday or Thursday work for you? I figure we should keep our options open, and have two days we can go.

Either one will work. I'll just schedule my eye doctor around them. Do remember to call her up for make sure she's expecting us.
