The prospective roommate has decided to move back to Santa Fe.

Admittedly, the woman was a flake and a half, but I've just spent two weeks *not* trying to find a roommate because of her.

I'm going to have to put ads in the papers again.

Does anyone know a single woman who is looking to share an apartment in the DC suburbs? The free bedroom has its own bathroom, and the apartment is within walking distance of two groceries, a movie theather, and several restaurants -- and there is a MARC station just a mile away. It's only $545/month.

The drawbacks are that it is a top floor walk-up, and I'm a bit on the messy side -- not dirty, but stuff winds up drfiting to the couch and dinner table.

Maybe you should join some LJ communities for that area and post there.

I'm a member of communities for Oklahoma and Oklahoma City, and I see apartment/house offerings fairly often on them.

Have you checked the DC branch of Craigslist for its housing ads lately? Or the CityPaper? Is there a Germantown-Gaithersburg local weekly paper, also? Because that would be an excellent place to read/check/post ads.

I tried Craiglist for a while -- I suppose I could put an ad up there again. I've been putting ads in the Gazette, which has given an okay amount of feedback.

I suppose I could but an ad in the Post again, and maybe even the Blade...

Another thought -- you might stop at Lambda Books -- or at the women's bookstore on the next major street to the east (can't think of name since they moved away from the circle) and see if they have bulletin boards. Ditto the bulletin boards at Kramerbooks, upstairs by the bathrooms.
