I have finished the

Pirate Vest Pirate Vest

Made for A, to wear to the Privateer Feast 2006. Using Simplicity pattern #4923 in the XL with fabric and notions from G-Street.

Sewing for Dummies was an invaluable help, as were [livejournal.com profile] twistedchick and [livejournal.com profile] tricksterquinn, for lots of online and real-life handholding.

I still have to add a drawstring to a pair of pants, and try to edge 5 sashes -- they might end up raw, unhemmed fabric -- but everything should be okay for the Privateer Feast tomorrow.

The vest looks lovely!

But don't worry - it's not a costume contest!

Well, look for a tallish guy with red hair and a short beard to be wearing it. He's my driver for the evening. I'll be around him somewhere.

And it may not be a costume contest, but I can get terribly perfectionistic about costuming and crafts.

I try not to be too perfectionist about anything I may be washing honey butter out of.
