So, Saturday I spent about 3 hours just looking at fabric for pirate costumes, for the Privateer Feast. I'm allright -- I have a shirt, a stayed bodice, and leather pants to wear. [livejournal.com profile] tricksterquinn is going to go in boy-drag, and friend 'A' is going as a deckhand.

We found some fairly good denim for A, subtley striped black-on-black, to make him pants and some green-and-black herringbone upholstery fabric to make a vest. [livejournal.com profile] tricksterquinn found some lovely red velvet for her own vest, and some good broadcloth to make a shirt. And since we were a G-Street, we found buttons, buttons, and more buttons.

Hopefully, we'll get the costumes done in the next week or two, so that we aren't pinning our costumes together the day of.

Sunday I went down to Takoma -- I got there early, so I wound up buying *lots* of apples at the farmer's market -- to have lunch at Savory Cafe with [livejournal.com profile] sanj and [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon, where we looked at [livejournal.com profile] twistedchick's art. Afterwards, I went down to Stitch DC and bought some hemp yarn to make necklaces out of, silk yarn from Alchemy to make a lace-and-cabled scarf, and Noro Kureyon to make a scarf and a felted bag out of. I really wanted Noro Aurora, to make more leaf-lace scarves, but no one local seems to carry it.

A busy weekend, and now I need to catch up on sleep before this coming weekend. I'm scheduled to demonstrating spinning at Bethesda Library on Saturday, and hope to celebrate my birthday sometime. Or sleep. Something like that...

If I'd known *when* y'all were at Savory, I would've come over -- I was all of two blocks away and the meeting got out earlier than expected.

Oh well. Maybe this weekend we can meet up.

It was rather interesting how your art looked different up on the walls, instead of in your place. The cliffs painting was really nice where it was placed, and I still really like the sandals drawing.

There's Guild at 2 p.m. Saturday; want to meet up before that at Dupont and find some lunch?

We could, certainly. Teaism is always fine, or someplace else that you think is good -- I'm sort of wanting good German food this week, but I don't want to make it myself, if you know a place?

I won't be going to guild this week, since I volunteered to demo at the Bethesda Library, and with the guild meeting being moved to the afternoon, there's conflict.

I don't think I know of any good German food in the Dupont area, though it could be there. Restaurants move around a lot.

Well, you know that I'm not picky. I'd like to try something I haven't ever gone to. We can meet around noon and follow our noses.

Okay, noon Saturday. How about the south exit of Dupont, near Cosi? There's a sheltered place to stand if the weather goes bad. And I'll think about food.
