Well, it looks like I'm going back to the temp posting I was working at before. I'll be happy to have money come in, but it feels like failure not to have gotten more permenant employment in the two months I've been out of work.

Ugh.

It's not failure. It's income.

This is a horrendously difficult job market, made more difficult by the fact that you're looking for work before an election -- in an area where many of the jobs come from government contract. At least you will have some money coming in.

Yes, but I've been lookinf for permenant work since May -- and nothing's caught. I'm really really bad at job hunting.

Oh well, at the very least it will get me out of the house and I mihgt actually be able to indulge in a little bit of yarn shopping this weekend.

I wish you good luck with the job. And much money!

If someone being more pathetic than you makes you feel better at all ;), I've been a temp worker at the same place for over a year, and I only meant to stay for a couple of months. *sigh* Not to mention that there are people doing the exact same job, but who work for another agency, getting about 50 cents more an hour than I do, and this is after I got my 'yearly raise.'

The way I try to make myself feel better is remembering that it's easier to be patient about getting a good job if I'm being paid in the meantime... and sometimes it even works. :)
