Maryland RenFest

It's autumn again, so it's time for the Maryland Renaissance Fesitval. This is a fairly large fair held every weekend until October 22nd.

This year I want to go September 30th or October 1st because Mediaeval Baebes will be there doing three shows a day. Considering they are a British group, this might be my only chance to see them ever.

Anyone else interested?

After the enterance fee? Nothing, as they're playing the Royal Stage. This is a case where I will make sure you get up early so we can get there early and snag a good seat, if I have to keep you up all night.

I haven't been in a couple of years, since most of the shows don't change (much) and I end up spending $$$ in one day (much like the AgFair). But I would be interested in seeing the Baebes, and renewing my love for Mr. Johnny Fox (if he is still doing a show).

I don't know about Johnny Fox, but I think a chance to see the Baebes is worth it.

And I know what you mean about spending money. It's not usually as bad as the MD Sheep and Wool Fesitival for me, but that's not saying much...

Johnny Fox does magic and swordswallowing... I don't think his show has changed in over a decade (at least not between 1995-2004, when I first and last saw him) but his jokes never get tired! I also adore Fight School (http://www.period-productions.com/FightSchool.html).

I spend the most on entrance and food... I have gotten better about the other spending now that I don't go in costume.

Ohh, the Renfaire! I miss it! Nowhere within a reasonable driving distance, I fear. Maybe some year I'll get out to visit friends in the late summer and then bum a ride over.
