I've finished yet another scarf. I'm way ahead on stocking up for random Christmas gifts this year.
I'm really fond of the Multidirectional Diagonal Scarf pattern -- it's easy, and I don't have to think too much about it while I knit, which means I can talk to people as I knit. And it looks wonderful in just about every varigated yarn I've tried it in.
bayleaf, are you still interested, or should I put it into the 'random gifts' box?
Karaoke Multidirectional Scarf Made out of South West Trading Company Karaoke (50% wool/ 50% soysilk), color #300 Dipity. The tiny wad in the center is all that is left from three balls, so it's also very efficient at using up yarn. |

You have to be able to knit, do a knit-front-and-back increase, a slip-slip-knit decrease, and cast off. The only thing that is tricky at all about it is picking out a varigated yarn you like, and getting enough of it (150 grams of worsted weight is about right).
