I had a bit of rough throat on Saturday, it was a bit of a cough on Sunday, it was definitely a cough on Monday, and *now* I can't go ten minutes without a bout of coughing.

I've called in sick -- at the very least, I'm going to be exhausted just from coughing by the end of the day -- and will try to get a doctor's appointment today.

This is not fun...

It is very frustrating. I'm fine to get up, walk around, and do stuff ... but I'm also stopped every ten minutes because of a hacking cough.

I'm staying home, more because I don't want to give everyone this, than anything else.

Ack. I've had a sore throat for two weeks, so I feel you. You're doing much worse, though. I hope you feel better, and the doctor's give you plenty of medicine.

And don't forget the usual, lots of liquids, lots of rest, etc.

The doctor doesn't know what it is -- either a cold or I've finally developed allergies. My only symptoms are a slight fever and dry hacking cough.

I went away with a prescription and two OTC medicines -- guess which cost more when I got them? -- and orders to rest at home until Friday.

I don't *get* sick days. I'm going to see if I feel better tomorrow. If so, I'll go to work -- no improvement, I'll stay home. If I don't improve or get worse by Friday, I have to go back to the doctor.

There's also something going around in the pollen area that is causing dry-throat coughing even if you don't have the current crud. I have been dealing with it for three days now; it was particularly annoying on Sunday afternoon driving over to the Green Man Festival because we'd go past some stand of trees and it would hit me, and in a mile it would be gone.

Yes, she told me to get Claritin as well as Mucligex DM and a painkiller. I'm hoping the Claritin works, because me taking expectorants for a dry cough doesn't seem to help.

I've also got that dry itch around my eyes that I get when I need to sleep. I'm thinking it's really some sort of pollen driving me crazy, because I'm not all sniffly like a cold would be. Plus, now that I'm not anxious in a waiting room, I'm noticing a bit of tingle around my nose and lips -- what the heck am I reacting to?
