Started more seeds

2 pots each of

• Hatch chile


• Buena mulata chile


• Purple tomatillo


• Abe Lincoln tomato


• Aji charapita chile

I used biodegradeable cardboard pots and seed starting mix this time.

Also, pulled the Mortgage Lifter tomato seedlings out to the windowsill and stronger supplemental light. There were getting awfully leggy, and I want them to be better established before I try transplanting them.

Oh it is exciting, isn't it? All these new seedlings! I like the name Germination for this month, although I suppose it only works in the Northern Hemisphere.

Well, it is the French Revolutionary Calendar that I'm using, so yeah, it's for the Northern Hemisphere, and even then it doesn't quite match up with what my seasons are locally.

Ooh, interesting. I didn't know about that one, but it makes sense to try to decimalize time as well.

I am so far behind on spring prep, even though I have learned not to plant here until at least mid april... late frosts have been a thing.

Oh, these little guys are safely inside on a seedling heating mat, in a plastic seedling greenhouse, with supplemental lights. Once they sprout, I'll put them on my windowsill with a stronger supplemental light. I don't plant tomatoes, peppers, or any of their relatives outside until May 1st, because I don't trust the weather here not to kill them.

Green peas and fava beans, though, are probably going in the ground next week.
