[personal profile] greenygal just informed me that the Lego Research Insitute set is back!

This is the set with three female scientist minifigs -- the chemist has a small laboratory with beakers and syringes, the astronomer has a star chart and telescope, and the paleontologist has a magnifying glass, microscope, and dinosaur skeleton! It's been sold out and unavailable for months! I've just ordered a set for myself and another for my nephews!

It's already sold out again at that link. "Limited quantity is expected at LEGO® Brand retail locations the week of December 14, 2014."

Hmmph.

Maybe they should have made more. There's clearly a demand.

Is there anything in that set that has its own mold? Or something about the way they manage from mold to bagging?

I think they may have drank their own kool-aid. They worked 'so hard' to over-inscribe masculinity onto standard LEGO that when they thought that 'girls' were the new market and 'discovered' Friends...

That people want regular LEGO with women represented, cue the 'inconceivable' from Princess Bride.

Teeny T-rex arms!
