I've decided that I'm not going to participate in Yuletide this year, despite nominating fandoms, because I simply don't have the energy to be sure I'd be ble write even a thousand words. Which is really not happy making.
Maybe you can peruse the letters and see if there's anything there you want to write for a treat? I know, it's not the same, but I mean, if you find yourself with a chunk of time...
Surgery really takes it out of you! The last major surgery I had was an early September surgery and I was still dubious about Yuletide that year. You'll be ready for next year!
Not this year for me, too. Every year, I look through the fandoms and decide if there is something I want to write or not. This year, Yuletide has completely gone by without my noticing it. I'm just too busy.
Taking a break is not a bad thing. You do need to rest. You did have major surgery a few months ago.
