Cumberland sauce, but with fruit juice (grapefruit if you want it to be tart, cider if you want it to be sweet) instead of port?

After looking it up, the consensus seems to be Cumberland sauce just doesn't *work* without wine. Usually in these situations, I try to substitute cider vinegar, but I'm not sure that would work, either.
