The Constantine Afflication is the book I picked up at WisCon from the $1 ARC table. It's basically a steampunk mystery novel set in a The World Turned Upside Down universe. I picked it up, read the first two lines, and had to have it.

He called himself Adam, and all he wanted was love.

The man who was not quite a man walked across his laboratory, moving awkwardly on a leg still stiff from his accident in the Arctic long years before.

Would you be able to resist an opening like that?

Obviously I can't resist an opening like that, since I just requested the book from the library.

lol. Who could resist it? I went "wait, is the opening chapter from the perspective of Frankenstein's monster?!", snapped it up, and ran back to my hotel room chortling about my excellent find.

Yes, now I only hope someone is interested in writing it. I'll ask for it and Bite Me! for sure, and probably The Flash, if all my nominations get approved.

Sadly, the Danish library system seems to have been able to resist it. And my current book budget is somewhat limited *pouts*
