The Navigator: A Medieval Odyssey is playing at the AFI tomorrow at 7:35 pm as part of the Totally Awesome 80s film series.

It's a 'A time-traveling cult classic from maverick fantasy director Vincent Ward (WHAT DREAMS MAY COME)' -- seting in 1348 England and 1988 New Zealand. I may see it for that description alone. Has anyone ever seen it?

You will have to post a report if you see it! It sounds amazing.

I saw it when it first came out, and then a couple times on video. I really loved it -- it's sad and funny and just *neat*.

I saw it on cable a while after it first came out. It's been so long that I don't remember much about the plot, but I do remember really liking it.

I saw it as a kid (there's a child character so maybe my school thought it was appropriate for kids?) and the people from 1348 terrified me, but when I saw it again some years later I actually understood it and enjoyed it.
