There's a new start-up archive that seems to be trying to monetize their fanfic.

I suspect this website and monetizing plan will suffer the Death of a Thousand Sporks very soon, but keep your eyes open, because the Fanfic.me people are scheduled to attend the Web 2.0 Expo/NY Start-up Showcase on October 12th.

Never. There is always someone clueless enough to think they are the first one to come up with the idea of taking their legal (though sometimes ethically dubious) business practices from their real job and try to make money off the fanficcers. It *never* ends well, but it doesn't keep people from trying.

This one has less excuse than most, since she seems to have been involved in a fanfic community for several years, given that the news articles mention her involvement in a 7th season ER fannishness.
