Partly because of semi-incompatible schedules with most of my alpha readers, and partly because of other RL issues, I haven't made substantial revisions on my
sabriel_mini story yet and I'm finding it difficult to write a lot of the
sassy_minibang story -- why did I decide to write about teenage boys in HS? WHY?! -- so of course I'm looking ideas for the
gabriel_bigbang. :headdesk:
Well, at least
greenygal and
ellen_fremedon kept me from signing up from the
team_free_love exchange or anything else that I wouldn't have time for... my buds are good for me, no?
There's a post for prompts, though nothing is appealing to me yet. So far, the prompts are far too specific and involve characters or relations that I'm not interested in writing at this time.
Right now, I'm considering taking up the Hob idea I had to abandon for the
sabriel_mini, though it's really more of an ensemble story (and the pairings are Sam/Jess and Gabriel/Kali with UST Dean/Cas), or the blasphemy fic bunny, which would require some reading up on Levantine and Mesopotamian mythology, or something about Gabriel and the Nephilim, which means actually reading the Book of Enoch (and maybe the Book of Tobit, if I want to use Raphael as well -- c'mon, he's the archangel who represent in art by a fish, how is that not hilarious?).
The blasphemy fic would be an alternate season 6 mash-up of the Descent of Inanna, ideas gleaned from too many Alan Moore comics (aka Promethea) and canon. Sam and Gabriel could trade off the roles of Inanna and Ninshubur, while dealing with Eve who would play both Ereshikigal and Astarte -- basically, the idea is that Eve has been pissed at God ever since the divorce and him absconding with all the kids, and her using undead angels to throw a spanner in the works of both Heaven and Hell when it looks like God has run off again in the wake of the Apocalypse That Wasn't. Castiel would appear, probably, and Crowley, but Bobby and Dean would be off-stage for significant amounts of time.
Gabriel and the Nephilim... would have almost no canon characters, at least for large portions of it, unless I did it as flashbacks and such. Otherwise, the useable characters are mostly the angels, and that's problematic at best.
I guess what I really want to write is something about how I think Gabriel (and the other angels) really want someone to give them orders they can agree with, and maybe about how the purpose of humans is to become the moral superior of God, so he doesn't HAVE to be in charge anymore, or something like that. I just need a plot to develop those themes on...
Or maybe I just need 36 hours in the day so I can get everything done that I want to do and enough sleep?

I was just having a bad motivation day yesterday. I hope today will be better.
