I'm tempted to sign up for the Sam/Gabriel mini-bang before sign-ups close on Friday.

However, the idea I currently have not really Sam/Gabriel or even Sam & Gabriel. It's a post-season-6 idea where Dean gets to deal with the results of being God's Favorite Human via a very literal-minded and newly recreated archangel, while Sam tries not to dying laughing. It'll be well suited to the next round of [livejournal.com profile] gabriel_bigbang if I don't completely lose the plot-bunny by the time that starts up again.

Because het, gen and threesome stories are welcome as long as Sam and Gabriel are the main characters in the [livejournal.com profile] sabriel_mini, I could do the AU idea about Sam being a pro-bono lawyer for the local branch of the ASPCNH (American Society to Prevent Cruelty to Non-Humans) -- aka, the one where Sam and Jess rescue Gabriel from the pound -- or I could do the AU where Jess survives the pilot because she and Sam have been dating this Musicology graduate student who somehow kept himself and Jess alive when Brady the Demon came to kill her (basically, Gabriel in Anna's role, and more screwing with canon than is good for me.

Or I could pick up one of the plot-bunnies that are being offered for adoption -- nothing has bit me yet, though.

The likelihood of me sticking to 5000 words, or even 10000, is laughable. I blew past almost everyone in the [livejournal.com profile] gabriel_bigbang by about twice the length -- I think I was still 10,000 words longer than the next longest story.

What do you think -- am I being ridiculous for even contemplating signing up? Or do you have a plot-bunny that you think would be perfect for me to write?

I can't hear the name "Sabriel" without thinking of Garth Nix.

And no, I don't think you're crazy to think of signing up.

Sabriel is the first book in a fantasy trilogy (usually called the Abhorsen trilogy or the Old Kingdom trilogy) by Garth Nix. The other books are Liriel and Abhorsen. Sabriel is also the name of the eponymous book's main character--a young woman who's a special kind of a sorcerer called an Abhorsen; she fights necromancers and evil Free Magic creatures and puts the unquiet dead to rest.

And I totally understand how signing up for anything can be insane when your work schedule is too hectic.

I'll do my best to cheer you on, though I'm notoriously flaky when it comes to balancing online and RL.
