Staying in today...

My supervisor actually told me not to try to come in today.

It's nice to have a boss who is reasonable -- the fact that he takes the same route to work (ie bus and Metro) makes it pretty nice when there is an obstruction like this.

Now, on to something do to today... I might make myself a cake, considering my birthday is tomorrow... or maybe turned the failed brioche from yesterday into bread pudding.

Brioche bread pudding, a decadent comfort food for snowed-in days, curled up with a cup of hot cocoa in front of a warm computer ^__^

Well, it's also a decent way to start working through a half-gallon of milk. I get the non-homogenized stuff from the co-op,since it's great for making ice cream and comes in glass bottle (which seems to make it last longer).

I've also got pork braised in oranges for meals, so I'm kind of set.

I miss milk in glass bottles. It really does last longer and it tastes fresher plus the bottles are easier to recycle, they just need a good shampoo and a run through the steam steriliser (a run through the home dishwasher on the heat cycle works for home use)

Yummy pork. Tonight's supper is "Quick'n'Lazy Enchiladas" with the extra serving going into the mate's bento lunch jar, with tomato red pepper soup, spinach salad, and apple & aged cheddar for dessert.
