That was quite amazing. Especially with the appearance of Michael, who I had been wondering where the hell he was.

On the other hand, he is as much a dick as any other angel we've met, so I'm totally justified in writing him that way too. He's very gentle about it, but he's totally condescending to Dean -- he dismisses everything that Dean says on the basis of 'this is destiny'.

Seriously, the angels don't believe in free will, but that's because *they* don't (or aren't) supposed to have it. They actively work to subvert any exertion of free will Sam and Dean make. I hope the season ends with God showing up and giving all his older children a good spanking or something, because I don't know if I want to suffer through 5 years of such a bleak world without some chance of a better life at the end.

And Cas calling Sam his friend was very sweet, as was the way Sam kept finding Cas falling over and trying to help him. The [profile] sassy_otp is going nuts over that, I'm sure.

Also at this point, I'm pretty sure neither of boys will want to have kids, even if they ever have the opportunity; they'd rather the bloodline die with them.
