Saturday I went with
cincodemaygirl and
alpheratz to Kiparoo Farm and Dancing Leaf Farm for their joint February sale/new color preview. I bought a skein of Silk Road at Kiparoo -- it's a 50/50 silk wool fingering yarn, 650 yds, and a beaded shawl pattern to go with. At Dancing Leaf, I got three different sock yarns, to try three different patterns from my new book, The Eclectic Sole, including the Rivendell sock. It should be interesting, anyway.
Yesterday,
cincodemaygirl,
twistedchick and I met for dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. I had the grouper -- interesting, but I think I prefer milder fish better. After we'd finished our entres, the waiter brought out a profiterole for me, with a lit candle in it;
twistedchick had mentioned it was birthday before we ordered, so the waiter must have planned it and timed it. It was very sweet of him. Desert for me was actually papaya-guava sorbet.
Also, I've decided to keep growing my hair out -- maybe to my shoulders again, maybe longer if I can manage it, now that I actually know more about taking care of hair properly. For one thing, I think the grey at my temples is less noticeable with longer hair
