I bought a copy of Quiver the other day. Why did no-one tell me about this before?
Kevin Smith wrote a Green Arrow story and no-one told me. I feel left out!
It's tightly written, it works within some of the crack-ier canon from the DCU (I'm looking at the whole Parallax/Spectre/Hal Jordan thing), and Ollie is really well done as guy who is flawed as heck but really tries. The most illuminating moments come when he's realized he's missing ten years worth of memories, and he keeps asking other heroes about Roy and Dinah. And he's hilariously a headcase, as well, suspecting an old man of being a supervillain simply because he has a new computer... ;D
Also, I love that Kevin Smith at least brought up 'If you are a mind and a body, but not a soul -- are you still a person?' -- even though none the characters answered the question.
Phil Hester's art is dynamic yet stylized -- it takes a little getting used to if you're used to more photorealistic styles, but it's very good, and he did a really great job with making the layout flow. And Matt Wagner did the original covers which are included in the book.
