PayPal is a bitch and a half.

I remembered that I do have an emergency account that I'm willing to risk, as I almost never touch it and any activity would be readily apparent, but now PayPal is saying "We'll deposit money in your account and then you tell us how much in order to confirm things! It'll probably take three days for them to show up on your statement!"

Holy crap, this is annoying, and further proof that I should never ever bank on-line.

I'm just going to have to send a cashier's check. Argh.

You really should have a credit card, if not for situations like this, then for helping establish your credit for when you want to get a loan/mortgage someday.

Just spend a small amount and pay it off in full every month. Build a history of modest spending and paying it off without fail.

I have credit cards. That's not the problem. It's that PayPal will only accept a bank account transfer for some transactions.

Listen, would you like me to pay for whatever it is, as my PayPal is linked to my bank account, and you can write me a personal check, for which I will not charge you a fee of any kind? (I assume you're not dealing with a staggering amount of money -- although if you are, that's easily enough solved by your reimbursing me first.)
