I was complaining to my Mom about how I haven't had much luck last year trying to grow tomatoes on my patio when she suggested the Topsy-Turvy Planter, which is seriously cracked out, but seems like it might actually work.

Anyone have any experience with these sorts of upside-down planters? I've got one eyebolt already in the porch above me that I have a hanging basket of cherry tomatoes in, but is it worth buying the Topsy-Turvy and trying for more?

I looked into that a while back as a potential Mother's Day present. Some reviewers claim it works miraculously well, while others say it's prohibitively heavy, needs to be hung awkwardly high off the ground to give the plants room, and makes them prone to mold and other ailments. I think how well it works depends on individual circumstances, like climate and whether there's a tall, strong person around to tend it. XD

The topsy turvy planter looks cool! And I never thought about cherry tomatoes in a hanging basket - it makes sense, though. They're kind of viney. *files the idea away for spring*
