The local yarn shop has been hosting free classes on Saturdays this month, which I've made twice. I am currently working on Endpaper Mitts.
Colorwork is something I find pretty enjoyable, though it can be a bit time consuming to get the pattern down. This one wasn't too bad, but the thumb gusset is going require me to do it at home where it's quiet. I started my swatch with a different base color, but it didn't work with the varigated yarn, so I switched to the off-white. I'll use the other for a different set, I think.

But the color pops very nicely, and when I finish them I'll probably take them to work for the days when I have trouble keeping my hands warm.
I also took the cable class last weekend, and made a cabled beret out of Karabella Chloe -- a cotton, angora, vicose, and microfiber blend yarn. It's pretty and will probably halo like made the first time I wash it. It's also a bit looser than the tam I've worn all winter, so I'm not quite sure I trust it yet.

I'm also about halfway though my nephew's backpack, which means I should order the hardware for it tonight. The Noni Bags Spring collection is out, and should be at the yarn shop by the end of the week. The only one I want to do for myself is the lunchbox, but I could see doing the Lenten Roses or Retro Bag for a gift.
I'm still looking forward to the Homespun Yarn Party next week and the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival in five weeks, but I need to start thinking about summer knitting projects, because wool is going to be unbearable to work with in a few months...
