The LGBTfest claims list is open. I've gone and claimed Prompt 869, which will derail everything else I've been writing, but [livejournal.com profile] gblvr has promised to hold my hand, and [livejournal.com profile] sanj will listen to my plot babble.

If you're at all interested, there are hundreds of prompts in all sorts of fandoms.

I had a feeling you'd claim that prompt! I sort of composed it with you in mind. :)

Good luck!

I hope you don't mind that I'm going to go with the idea that Hank is bi, a bit confused, and heartily embarrassed about what he said to the press when he was out of his head from hormone surges...

I'm not sure if I'm going to have him talk to any students about it, because I'm not that good with the kid characters, and I'm doubtful he'd say much to the kids because it's not very professional.

Oh, do whatever you like with it! Anything that deals with the fallout of that stupid canon is good with me.

I would love to see the reactions of openly gay, non-student mutants, like Northstar or Karma or anyone else you see fit to write. But even that's completely optional. Just do what appeals to you. :)

Xi'an is actually a good person to bring in. She's smart and no-nonsense. And she'd make Hank wriggle about his idiocy and the fact that as long as he keeps dating women, the fact that he's bi isn't going to hurt him (unlike if he got his courage up and actually dated a guy, instead of just enjoying a varied fantasy life.)

I'm afraid I can't imagine what Hank and Jean-Paul would talk *about*. "You like cock now?" "I think so, yes." "Hmph."

On the other hand, I now have absolutely hilarious idea for a scene where Anole tries to give Hank same-sex safer sex advice...

*snicker* Oh, that would be hilariously awkward.

And you're probably right, about Jean-Paul - it's just that he's the only other mutant who has come out with a big media blitz, so it feels like he should be involved somehow. (And that's not so much a command to you as it is a criticism of Grant Morrison - Northstar was hanging around the mansion pretty much simultaneously, wasn't he? Shouldn't he have had a comment?)

Yeah, Jean-Paul is out, but it's not the defining trait of his character. His identity as Quebecois is more important to him than the his identity as gay.

Northstar's comment was probably something along the lines of "oh, yes. You're gay now. [rolls eyes]"

AWESOME. I saw that and thought of you right off. ;)

I'm really scared I've bitten off more than I can chew...

I like the one that you chose!

I am too busy in RL to commit right now to writing for the fest, but...if no one claims the prompts that I have my eye on, I'm going to start writing it anyway and post when I am able to finish. I've got a killer plot bunny now! :-)

It's kind of a stretch -- the canon is so excruciatingly wtf?! for this that I'm going to have to wing a lot of it.
