yesterday I went with [livejournal.com profile] gblvr to the Woodlawn needlework exhibit, which was neat, but I had an intermittent headache the entire time, which was bad.

We had spotted Knit Happens on the way down, and on the way back, she suggested we look to see if it was still open. It was, and was having a sale of ridiculous dimensions. Noro Iro for 75% off and the like. I bought a LOT of yarn. *She* bought a lot of yarn, with the idea that I'll knit it into interesting things.

Then we had dinner at La Pan Quotidian, which was nice.

But by the time we got back to my place, I was coughing, and by the time I went to sleep I was coughing with that disgusting metallic taste that signals you're going to be truly ill.

So I am awake now, coughing (even over the medicine I took), with achey joints and kidneys.

I'm going to run out long enough to buy apples and bread, and then go back to bed. :P

Oh no!

Kidneys = drink LOTS OF WATER, please.

Holler if you need anything. I do juice delivery.

Juice and soup might be useful. God knows I don't think I have the energy to cook.

Orange-pineapple by preference, but I'll take anything that is 100% juice.

Chicken stew of some sort.

And possibly a thermometer. I don't think I have one.

Ish...I am so sorry. Get lots of sleep and feel better, okay?

It's not your fault. I'd have gotten sick anyway, and at least I had a fun day out before that.

Do you need anything that I could bring over tomorrow?

From: [identity profile] neotoma.livejournal.com

Dayquil and skyr (it's easy to eat) and maybe some citrus?

I'm definitely staying home tomorrow. Sanj brought over some soup and juice tonight and said I sounded like death -- I've lost a lot of my voice right now.

Dayquil and citrus I can get you; I have *no* idea about skyr. I'll email you in the morning and we can sort out times, etc. I'm figuring on coming over and staying just long enough to hand you things. :)

Skyr is that Icelandic dairy product [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon got me onto. Whole Foods carries in in the dairy section, near the yogurt and sour cream.

It's easy to eat and high in protein, which is why I generally have a couple of containers of it as emergency "I'm too tired to cook" food. It's just that I ate the last of it yesterday.

I will try, but I can't guarantee getting to Whole Foods. Their parking lot is pretty impossible after 9:30 a.m. I'll pick up oranges for you at Snyder's and some garlic and ginger as well -- both good for colds -- and anything else that comes to mind, and then try to get to Whole Foods.

I haven't found dairy products helpful at all during colds, but maybe that's me.

Like I'm going to complain. You're bringing me *FOOD*, when I'm too tired to cook. :)

PS Can your Spousal Unit tolerate cashmere at all? I've got come nifty yarn that I think might suit, but it's 5% cashmere.

Man, everyone I know seems to be sickish. *sends you fluids and cold meds*

Right now I'm not so achey, though I'm still too hot and coughing way too much. I might be well enough to go into work tomorrow.

Or maybe not.

There's a bad flu bug going around. Hope you feel better soon.

I've been dodging the flu bug that's been going on around here. I can't afford to get sick. Rest up, and I hope you get better soon.
