Friday I had dinner with
gblvr with the idea that I'd go home with her and felt the latest Noni Design bag I've done while watching Stargate Atlantis with her. Unfortunately, I forgot half the supplies at home, so I couldn't finish the bag. Either I'll finish it later and give it to the intended receiptient later, or to someone else who'd like the bag if another birthday or holiday comes up (Easter? Purim? Beltane? who has a holiday coming up?)
We slept in Saturday, managing to leave early enough to eat lunch at the local diner. They had really good poutine for this area (where it is sold as 'french fries with gravy and cheese') even though it was made with cheddar instead of cheese curds. My pot roast, on the other hand, was dry and had a tomato-based gravy; pot roast should never have tomatoes in it, in my opinion.

gblvr is enormous and half given over to craft supplies. I found the plastic canvas I needed for stiffener, and some Lion Brand wool that will felt -- I'm going to try making the Cellphone Bag using the Noni Bags pattern, though I'm using Fun Fur for trim instead of marabou feathers (most impractical embellishment ever). This is the place for me to pick up purse handles; they had everything, including pink glittery sparkly ones that would go with a Year of the Pig bag.
We also stopped at Montgomery Mall so that I could look for socks (why are sock sizes not the same as shoe sizes? and why are large size socks so hard to find?) and so
gblvr could take me to the Lush store. She pushed me to get massage bars, because it's been so dry here that I've gone scaly.
Nordstrom did have the socks, though Smartwool is not a cheap brand by any means. On the other hand, wool socks that fit? I can probably wear them for several years, if I'm careful washing them. They also carry wool *tights*, though I'm not sure if I'll ever need those.
I bought two different massage bars at Lush -- one black one that smells of blackcurrant and is slightly gritty -- and a chuck of honey soap. It was expensive, but I'm will to experiment. I just don't know if my bathroom will survive the trial.
Now I just have to figure what to do for my birthday next weekend. Lush is having a Valentine's Day party, but that would almost gaurantee I spend more money, and I'd much rather go listen to music or something...

I love LUSH... I'm guessing the black bar you got was You Snap the Whip (http://usa.lush.com/cgi-bin/lushdb/2169), which is more of an in-shower moisturizing exfoliator than a massage bar. The parties are generally a little disappointing, and a great way to spend more money - I only go if I'm already planning to spend at LUSH. ;)

Yup, that was it. And the other one was 'Buffy'.
By the way, the Revels is having a pub sing at McGinty's in Silver Spring on the 24th. If you're in town instead of traveling, it'd be great to see you.

I'll have to bring the book to show you this weekend. Heather might enjoy it too.
