I'm just panicking at the moment, but I'm at the point of my sister's gift that requires *sewing* beyond my comfort level (buttons, seam repair), and am thus in a funk.
Also, sewing the zippers onto the Just Pocket bag I made for my mom has turned into an exercise in wobbliness, which offends my perfectionism.
I do have a pretty half-done bag, though.

This is the lining I plan to put in the bag. It's narrow width hemp batik...
I got it from Mekong River Textiles, as the owner has the most amazing stuff...

Zippers and I have an ancient enmity. That said, I have learned to pin them in, then hand-baste them into place, and only then will I sew them with the machine.
The lining should be fairly straightforward - hand-baste it in first if you are nervous about fit.
Ganbatte, this will be lovely!
I've got two eco-bags meant for Xmas prezzies still needing straps sewn on, so I hear ya! ^__^;

The lining will be interesting -- the fabric is as wide as the bag, but I have to cut circles for the ends.
Sewing on the branch and flowers took a while, but was rather fun.

I've found that it is much easier and less time-consuming (in the long run) to hand-sew zips, but they are horrible things at the best of times.

At least I've finished the first one, and it's not awful.
