So, fiction is subject to a two-strikes rule as well..?

#$!@$#!@!!

I'll be over here -- and clockwork dog will be too, considering one of the characters is a 15 year old girl.

Anyone want to help me draft a response to the 'your icons are about to expire! Buy more!' email that I got the other day. One that isn't full of phrases like 'idiots' and 'moral cowards'?

Well, yes. I knew that I'd have to back away from LJ after they went after [livejournal.com profile] cluegirl (tried to give her a first strike for an image she'd deleted a week prior, backed down when she pointed that out to them) and [livejournal.com profile] vikingcarrot (who tagged her artwork with ages, but got a strike anyway).

Unfortunately, Star Wars fandom hasn't been hit yet, so people there aren't jumping unless they're also in HP; I'm kind of stuck if I want to keep up with online SW fandom, at least for now.

I don't suppose you have a backup on IJ?

I have very little fiction on LJ, but it is all coming down.

Indeed. They are making noises about underage being okay if part of the plot, but really, NOT trusting them!

Because SixApart's track record? CRAPPY!

Yes, and how do they plan on judging whether or not it's part of the plot? It's just ridiculous.

How about something like "I have seen your actions defended on the grounds that you are a private profit-making business, so I'm talking to you in the only language you understand: you are never getting any more of my money."

Hmm... close.

I was thinking more:

"I am not renewing my extra icons, because Six Apart has not amended its Terms of Service or given clear policy in regards to explicit fiction that features teenagers. Nor has Six Apart outlined the appeals process for customers accused of violating the Terms of Service who have had their accounts suspended or threatened with suspension.

The rudeness of various staff members and the dodging of clearly worded and polite questions was a startling failure of your Public Relations department. I do not wish to fund such incompetence any longer. Nor do I trust you to maintain my privacy or provide me with reliable storage for my photos, drawings, and prose."

are you shutting down your lj here?

I don't intend to jump ship anytime in the foreseeable future--I'm not in the HP fandom, and don't really do the x-rated segments of Star Wars fandoms. I get that people are upset, but I'm not mad enough about it to leave-- especially when most of my f-list is staying.

But if you feel like you need to leave, I respect that.

Posted a Q to your IJ, but I'll repeat here - are you dropping the GJ stuff, or posting to both areas? IJ looks promising, but oh the annoyance of having to post to multiple places. -__-
