I was thinking of having a small gathering at my new place on Labor Day.

I'm thinking Chicken Plum Pie, since I saw damson plums at the market today. Combined with prune-types, I think that covers damson and corrans, don't you?

My only experience with plum/prunes is the tree we grew, which was smallish purple plums that were technically 'prunes'. I rather liked them fresh but not dried or preserved.

When is this gathering? On Labor Day itself or sometime during the weekend?

I came home after meeting for business; it was long and a bit fraught, and I just got home now (2:40)

I doubt it will start before noon, because most of my friends are NOT morning people, and anyway the sunlight is best in the afternoons because of how my apartment is laid out.
