So I have an interview tomorrow... and I'm seriously wishing I could pull out, because it looks like a terrible commute that wasn't apparent when I plugged the directions into the Metro's trip planner.

The tail end of it seems to be a bus that only runs once an hour. I'm really appalled -- and not familiar at all with the PG county bus lines. Is there *any* bus near Virigina Manor and Indian Creek Court in Beltsville beside the 89 Metrobus? Because I'm going to hate to refuse a decent offer because the commute starts out with me waiting 40 minutes to even get on the bus home...

Alas, if that's all the WMATA website comes up with... it's probably true.

The Bus is crap. I mean, PG County is crap, so we're unsurprised. But they don't have the fleet, drivers, or ridership to run things often. And the PG 'burbs are less served by Metrobus than, say, MoGoCo.

Maybe I should meet up with you guys for dinner afterward ... though heck if I know where I'm going to be.

What's the taxi number in PG? I think I might have to grab a cab back to the Metro by the time things are done.

If you're in Beltsville, then we're right up the road!

I don't know the taxi number(s), but searching for "prince george's county taxi" usually turns up a list or three.

I'll give you a call after the interview and we can see if dinner is a possibility. It should be around 5 or 6, though you'll have to pick me up because I really have no idea of the area.

Thanks! I'll make sure to have the taxi number, because I have the feeling that the bus is going to be hit or miss.

Cool! I'm in training until 4ish, so just call and leave a message if it's early. I'm sure we could come pick you up, as long as we know where you are!

Being reliant on transit is a real trick in job hunting... I've applied and interviewed with some places that are sheerly impossible.

I'm late, but I hope that everything went well for you! I also hope you got the commute sorted out. :S
