Farmer's Market -- 20 June 2020 (Onion Day, 3rd of Harvest, Year 228)

A loaf of country white bread, a loaf of cheddar jalapeno bread, a vegetable börek , a chicken börek, strawberry mint lemonade, shiso-orange mint lemonade, cracked black pepper chevre, yellow sweet cherries, baby summer squash, apple schnitz, cherry blossom (cherry-lime) kettle corn, all-american tri-color (cherry-lime, sea salt, and blueberry? raspberry? I'm not sure, but it's fruit-ish) kettle corn, 2 cilantro plants, an oregano plant, 2 Taste of India handpies, 2 Pulled pork handpies, a deep dish small bacon-cheese quiche, a triple citrus scone, a buttermilk cake, a all & oats bar, a salted caramel cookie stack, and a box of cookie bloopers.

Got two compliments on my green striped sundress, a question from a vendor about where my yellow sundress was, and a compliment on my necklace, from a vendor who says they prefer semi-precious to precious gemstone. Given that I was wearing my labradorite, pyrite, and lava bead necklace, I'm not sure any of it qualifies as even semi-precious; it's shiny rock, iron ore, and matte rock, strung in an aesthetically pleasing arrangement.

I got thouroughly drenched coming home, as we're having rolling thunderstorms today.

Mask making (Onion Day, 3rd of Harvest, Year 228)

I made three masks for greenygal recently -- one without nose wires, two with nose wires made out of 18 gauge jewelry wire.



The prints are from Spoonflower, from their fat quarter sale in April. The fabric is cotton poplin; I used an undyed muslin for the interior side of the masks. The ties are polyester bias tape that I bought in 55 yd spools, because I don't find ear-loops at all comfortable, but ties are pretty adjustable.
