This year, I'm hosting a celebratory brunch on New Year's Day. There will be pancakes, Liège waffles (or as close as I can get, as pearl sugar isn't readily available in American groceries), parsnip-pear soup, bacon, eggs, springerle cookies (hopefully), and whatever else makes it way to my table.
