computer woes (Pickaxe Day, 10th of Frost, Year 225)

I got a call from the computer repair shop today -- it sounds like I will probably be better off buying a new computer than trying to repair the old one. I'll call back tomorrow when I have more spoons to deal with that sensibly.

However, this probably means I'll have to delay seeing my parents until Easter again, because even a cheap computer would be more than I could afford while still buying plane tickets; since I'm still a temp at work, I don't get paid vacation days.
