neotoma: Elrond (cool blue ocean) (Elrond (cool blue ocean))

Slightly stalled on my Team Free Love Secret Lovers Exchange assignment. What I've got it cute and all, but it's not quite hitting the prompt...

I still haven't signed up for the Gabriel Big Bang, even though I'm writing for it -- a crossover, and whatever artist I get when I do submit it will probably hate me for that. Otoh, if you're an artist will to work on a big bang that is focused on Gabriel, you're willing to draw RSjr a lot -- the fan-artists I follow on deviantart complain a LOT about how hard he is to draw, and I can believe it. What is it with fandom, and the actors who look best in motion (I'm looking at you SGA...)? I'm still not decided who the villians would be -- Tlaloc looks intriguing, but the problem with the Aztec gods is that they're a case of Blue and Orange morality if there ever was one...

Also, my mom is hoping I'll come visit in the next three months. I definitely should have the time to come down for Christmas, but my tolerance for my family is shot... more than two days, and I get antsy. I've lost the context for talking with them, I suppose. It's difficult since I'm not married or partnered (and not actually caring about fitting into that box), and very areligious, and probably the staunchest liberal in the family.

I do have to thank [personal profile] greenygal for mentioning the Jericho characters should be using bicycles as well as horses once they run out of gasoline for the cars. I wouldn't have thought of that, since I don't bike, but a small town in the drylands of Kansas? You can probably bike around for most of the winter, even. That area is steppe, after all.

Still working on the sweater for sanj, but beginning to think I should be starting on Christmas presents. Otoh, I might not make any this year, instead limit myself to giving books and other gifts under $25. I just don't know that I have the energy to *make* things this year. I've been tired for a while. Maybe I should just take a week off and head to NYC or Boston and see the sights? Considering I haven't really taken a vacation yet this year, I probably am exhausted...
