GRRRRR....

I spent so much time this morning fighting to get my state taxes printed (the pdf was deliberately munged to only print from a 'print this' button on the document itself, which did NOT work) that I am too keyed up to do anything productive today, like I had hoped.

Also, this is the first year that I have owed money to the state and the feds, yet I made less money than usual by a noticeable amount.

I am *annoyed*.

I'm going to go for a short walk around the block and see if that helps...

1083 words today, for my lgbtfest story. I'm not sure if I'm mangling the prompt or not, but I think I'm hitting close to the mark.

Finding a *conflict* for this story was a lot harder than I thought it would be -- especially since I'm writing what is basically a gen (non-romance) story which deals with adult topics. It's kind of angsty at the moment, but not wallowing, I don't think.

I just wish I had a better handle on the canon of the past few years, but I've been buying exclusively ASTONISHING, because the other X-books weren't doing it for me. Unfortunately, that leaves me kind of shaky on current characterization for some characters. Also, I'm trying to hack something coherent out of Morrison's run, which is pretty tough if you're Joss Whedon, let alone an almost innocent bystander/fan-writer.
