Brain, brain, what is brain?

Talking over the Messiah Complex alternate future over on scans_daily, the comment was made that The House of M, if not exactly a *future* per se, was pretty rosy for mutants. I always wondered why more mutants weren't disgruntled about having it taken away.

My basic thought (and reply) was -- that was probably why Hank was over in the Iron Man book, and not 'woken up' by Layla. Because there is every possibility that he would have said, "No, I like this life," and clocked someone.

So, I started writing an AU on that theme today ( and I need some canon help )
