Watching this clip of how police drug kits react to soap, but not detergents makes me want to change over to using organic soaps like Dr. Bronner's from now on. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I can afford to do so, because Dr. Bronner's costs about $2.50 a bar instead of $6 for a twelve pack of Dial or Lever.

Obviously, this is part of continuing effort to eat more simply -- ie less packaged food and less eating out. Part of it is I want to consume less resources with my diet and part of it is I want to eat more healthfully. I've even considered trying the 100 mile diet, but after looking into it, I think that is something that is more easily accomplished by people who have a car and can drive out to farms -- and probably ones who don't have 9-to-5 office jobs.

Moving downcounty will hopefully make it easier for me to get to the farmer's markets more often, and cut down on some on taxis -- they cost too much, but sometimes they're the only way to get home if I visit my friends on the weekends.
