My lease is up at the end of July, so the housing office sent me a helpful letter saying that if I re-up, my monthly rent will got up by $127 -- which is 11%. WTF?! In December, when I had to talk to them about re-upping because they wouldn't give me a full year because I wasn't employed last July, they were only talking about raising it $20, which was annoying but bearable.
Christ on a cracker! The local government guideline is for rent fo go 4.4% -- not almost three times that! I'm going to have to find a cheaper/smaller place and move there. I am so not happy about this.
I still don't have a permanent job, so this is going to suck big-time. Plus, this means moving in July *again*. I might be able to swing a moving company this time, and hopefully I will be able to pare things better (
sanj, come over and help me get rid of clothes, okay?) and have less to move -- or at least, not MORE.
The thing I am really pissed about is that this mail arrived the day before I have to make a decision -- nice of them to give me such a long time to decide things.
