neotoma: Neotoma albigula, the white-throated woodrat! [default icon] (Default)

A recruiter just called to offer me an interview. As I was trying to figure out if I could get down to the site, he gave me a little overview of the job:

  • Research -- whereas I would rather be working production or process transfer and have stated so on my resume.

  • Quality Lab -- I have no experience in quality control, and find it an even less satisfying prospect then research.

  • Biodetection -- I have some experience on this.

  • Making test strips -- that triggered alarm bells. I worked for year as a 'temp-to-perm' at a company that did exactly that.

"Is this Tetracore?"

Yes, it is. He sounded surprised that I knew them.

"I worked there. They were horrible to me the last three months. I will never work for them again."

Oh, sorry.

Those are the people who were too cowardly to tell me when they fired me/terminated my contract. I left work one Friday with good wishes and 'see you on Monday', and walked in the next week to learn I had been fired -- the temp agency manager had just gotten things screwed up and not told me.

They're also the people who strung me along for an entire year with promises that they'd convert me to a permenant employee just as soon as they could afford to.

I don't even hate them any more. I just don't want to have anything to do with them.

I've got to get in gear and submit my resume places again. I've been coasting for far too long...
