Speculation on a small plot detail

For those of you who have been following Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden Files... in the latest book, Turncoat, Harry begins the book in a romantic relationship with Captain Luccio, that is later revealed to be the result of some mind tampering. Harry thinks it was to distract the head of the Wardens *and* to keep Harry himself under watch, but I noticed that it had the result of removing the True Love protection he'd been under for *years*; as recently as White Night, the fact that Harry loved Susan and was faithful to her kept him from being eaten by a member of the White Court.

Now that's gone. I'm wondering if it was an intended side-effect, or just really bad luck for Harry? It really depends on who the Black Council winds up being, though they've used White Court vampires as cat's-paws before, so making Harry especially vulnerable to the breed is worrisome...
