I've got a story due for the ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
flash_rogues holiday exchange and I'm probably going to get it posted at the latest possible date -- December 31st -- because I'm in no place emotionally to write at the moment.
I think this is a crisis of 'stick-to-it-ness'.
The recipient isn't asking for much, just some PG-13 or higher smuttiness based on this story from a Flash Annual.
I'm thinking that I'll set it right before Fury's fateful run in with Barry Allen, when he and Piper are young and stupid and in love, but with the cracks already starting to show. Fury is there to steal, and Piper is there for the adrenaline -- both of which are immoral motivations for thievery, but very different in where they decide to go with their lives afterwards.
Fury would be unreformable -- he's angry at the world, and he doesn't care who he hurts, or how often he gets knocked down as long as he can get up and hurt people some more.
Piper is desperate for attention, and callous with other people's property and livelihoods, but he doesn't want to hurt people for the joy of hurting them, and he will not kill.
Admittedly, all of that is a bit much to work into a sex scene... but I think I need to end it with Fury leaving to do the 'job' that lands him in jail, and Piper being broken-hearted and doing something *not* criminal, to foreshadow that he has a more hopeful outcome.
I think Piper will be doing something semi-legitimate, like working on repairs/replacement parts for a concert instrument -- he probably held down a day job of some sort, though something very casual and of odd hours, and under an alias...
So I'm probably going to be writing about doomed and tragic love while trying to make it PG13 or higher hot and sexy too.
I need a sanity transplant, obviously.
