Polishing and Grinding...

I am deep into the revisions of my gabriel_bigbang story, which is going to be posted on the 23rd.

It has gone from a draft that was almost exactly 40,000 words, to a revision that is definitely going to top out at *over* 50,000 words. So far, only one story that long has been posted, so I have no idea whether people will even be interesting in reading it.

Fortunately, my alpha readers have been great, a friend has offered to do a line proofread, and I don't think I'm screwing *too* much with the Jericho characters -- beside squishing a religious horror universe into their nice hard SF post-nuclear cosy catastrophe world, I mean...

Right now, I have to beat off idea for sequels, for other fics, and better titles and just keep chugging through the revision and expansion.

ETA: Broke 50,000 words tonight. Hopefully won't get up to 60,000 before this is finished enough to post... but I still have to revise most of the climax, and maybe flesh out a sex scene.

Ooh, this is the Jericho/Supernatural crossover? I haven't gotten up to Gabriel yet...haven't even got to Castiel, waiting on the dvds from the library, but yay! Looking forward to reading this.

Have you seen seasons 2 and 3? Because Gabriel is in an episode each in those seasons -- at least, they retconned the Trickster into being the Archangel Gabriel's 'witness protection' identity.

And yes, it's the Jericho/SPN xover. It's kind of insane. You liked Jericho, so hopefully you'll get a kick out of it when I post.

Ooh, I noticed it was the same actor, but didn't know it was supposed to be the same character, more or less. Yeah, I've seen up to season 3.

I'm taking shameless advantage of the fact that Richard Speight Jr. was on both shows to build my plot. Also, his fondness for goofy mustaches is being utilized...

I should probably rewatch Jericho too, it's been a couple years. And since I'm 13th out of 14 holds for Supernatural season 4....

Yep, RSjr played Deputy Bill. If you like his work, see if you can find a short film he starred in called "In God We Trust" by Jason Reitmann; it's adorable, sweet, and really funny.

Ooo, that's going to be a long wait. :(

Those Coke VS Pepsi commercials he's in have been a lot funnier since I saw the Trickster episodes. He even does the finger snapping thing.

Apparently the Pepsi ad people were quite confused by all the comments RSjr garnered for those commercials -- they thought Snoop Dogg would get the majority of the reactions, but they didn't reckon with fandom (or have any idea that RSjr has a small but intensely enthusiastic fanbase after his work in BoB, Jericho, and SPN)

I'm so happy to hear that the story is almost done. (kicks LJ for only just telling me you posted over there) I have to admit when they published the posting schedule I was disappointed you were at the end. But soon I shall finally read this story *YIPPEE*

I was delighted to be at the end, because I have in the revision I have added 16,000 words, and I'm still not not finished.

Otoh, my artist probably rues the day she volunteered for this...
