HANK SPECIFIC
Gen
The Morning After by
harmonyangel -- [comics] When Hank McCoy awoke one morning from unsettling dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a giant cat.
Facial Features by
harmonyangel -- [comics] When there’s a quiet moment, Hank likes to look through the pictures.
For the Kingdom of Heaven by
c_elisa [comics] -- Dr. Hank McCoy observes the cure. This is an *amazing* fic, and confronts the pros and cons of the 'Cure', and all the ways it could go wrong. Hank's voice is wonderful. There is also a DVD commentary and a regender for it, which are worth reading as follow-ups.
Office Hours and The Wisdom to Know the Difference by
tartanshell -- [XMM/Spiderman] Peter learns a lot from Professor McCoy. Cute on top of angst on top of cute.
Midnight Blue by
tartanshell -- [XMM] Nightcrawler at Jean Grey's funeral sees someone almost as unusual as himself.
Event by Te [XMM] -- Bobby, meet Hank. Then watch Bobby stuff his foot in his mouth.
I Shall Be Mr. Seek by
mogigraphia -- [XMM] Professor Xavier makes a house call. Dead perfect Hank voice, from nervous babbling to stunning insight
Twinkie Run (The Stars and Garters Remix) by
likeadeuce -- [XMM] Junk food is banned from Xavier's School for the Gifted. Hank McCoy, a new member of the faculty, decides to bend the rules for the sake of his students. Meanwhile, fellow new teacher Emma Frost creates her own set of problems for Scott Summers. Bonding through twinkie shopping and mischief!
Mens Rea by
ion_bond -- [XMM/Daredevil] Matt Murdock has a lunch date with the Beast.
Bobby and the Beast and Fur by Shade -- [XMM] Unable to sleep one night, Bobby wanders down to the kitchen and sees Dr. Grey escort a hulking stranger into the mansion...
Of Capes and Cods by
st_aurafina [XMM/House MD] -- Dr. Henry McCoy is called in for a consult at Princeton-Plainsboro when a mutant child is admitted. Hank vs. House is so freaking hilarious! Go read!
Death of the Heart by
marag -- [XMM/House MD] Henry McCoy brings a patient to Gregory House with a mysterious illness. House and Hank being old college friends is an interesting dynamic for the both of them.
I'm Dreaming of a… by
spuffyduds -- [XMM] Scott and Jean are acting on their natural urges, for the thirty-seventh time. Meanwhile, down in the rec room, Hank succumbs to an irresistible urge that he enjoys considerably less. A little saucy, but the sex is mostly alluded to. And embarrassing.
5 Things that Bobby and Hank are not allowed to do with the Danger Room by
penknife -- [comics] Not drabble written for my prompt...
Our Thousand Days by
vagabond_sal -- [XMM] You can take the hero out of the fight, but you can't take the fight out of the hero. Bobby, ten years later
Babysat by ValKerrie -- [comics] When Hank starts losing his intelligence and Bobby struggles with control of his powers during the early days of X-Factor, the two sit out a battle with the team and babysit Artie and Leech. Really great Bobby&Hank friendship
Het
Comfort Zone by
ion_bond -- [XMM] It takes some time to feel at home. Set before the movies. Being furry and blue makes for a life more isolated than most.
Beauty Tips and the Beast by Ramos -- [comics] Jubilee gives Beast some help with his grooming.
The Longest Night by Ascian -- [comics] When Beast and Cecilia are kidnapped from a medical conference, it is up to Gambit and Marrow to find them. Obviously, this fic is set back when Cecilia and Marrow were at the Mansion, and before Gambit did a face-heel turn again.
Snow People by Loki's Rose -- [comics] Just after Jean joins the team, in a universe that's just a bit different from the world of the X-Men we're used to, a young Bobby Drake has a bad day. Technically gen, this is the girl!Bobby story that makes me thing that this Bobby and Hank would have gotten married right after Hank finished his residency, if not earlier.
Slash
Stranger Blue by paxnirvana -- [comics] Hank is bored, and teasing Bobby is still fun. One of the few fics that does a good job addressing Hank's progressive mutation. I wish there were more, because a character that has such body image issues could be used to tell quite a number of interesting stories. And Bobby's self-confidence issues are interesting too -- he spent a *lot* of history playing the ditz, even though he's not (no one who gets a CPA is that spacey...)
Blues by Jane and Te -- [XMM] everybody goes home Written after the first movie, Hank is a young doctor in this.
Homecoming by Jane and Te -- [comics] it's not what he expected, not at all.
Handbasket 1: Overnight by Jane and Te -- [Ult-X] Hank ends up crouched in the corner of the gym showers because Bobby doesn't want to be alone.
Twenty-first Century Guy by
poilass -- [comics] Hank helps Bobby prepare for his first date with a man. This a favorite of mine, since it really plays up their buddyness.
First, Do No Harm by
poilass -- [comics] After a horrible mistake, Beast abruptly leaves the X-Men, and Bobby tries to coax him to come back home. Epistolary fic, done amazingly well. Heartbreaking, too...
Forget Everything I Tell You by Alestar -- [comics] Bobby and Hank. In one of the recent books, Hank announced to the media that he was gay. Except it was a joke. So he wasn't. deals with Hank's idiotic bitchfest with his ex-girlfriend that resulted in him being outed as gay. Actually, the idiocy is him not denying it, and the writer not going with the idea of him being bi.
Throw My Head Away by Alestar -- [comics] Bobby Drake has gone through fifty years of comic permutations, and years of change. He just can't seem to figure out what that means. Bobby is love, as is Hank.
The Bond of the Twinkie by amber-goddess -- [Xmen:Evolution] An evening study session with Hank gets Bobby thinking. A very sweet story about being 16 and having a crush on a teacher.
Slip Out of Darkness -- by
lonelywalker -- [XMM] Many things are unspoken in the life of a man. Hank and how he came out a mutant. Features Kelly!Mystique
Oddball thingies
The person roleplaying Beast at
theatrical_muse is doing a bang-up job. Go check out The Real McCoy -- the Xmen rpers are using a blended canon of movie, main-line comics and Ultimate comics.
I'm still looking for good Mutant-X fics, good Dark Beast fics (he's scary, but he's most disturbing when he's acting like Hank), and I'd really *really* like to see Hank gender-swapped in a fic and see how he'd be different if he'd been born 'Hannah' (probably would have married Bobby, if Bobby grew up enough to notice smart girls are hot...)
Also, Hank is a Hufflepuff at heart. Discuss.

I'm still scraping through rec sites and ff.net for other stories. I might have another list in a few weeks -- there are a few stories I missed.

It has nothing to do with the dearth of fic out there at all, no sir.) I know there are some that have vanished into the ether, because X-fic was the first stuff I read when I got a computer with a net connection. Alas! They are wonderful friends. I actually love them both equally, and sometimes I think I might love Hank a teensy smidge more, but he's intimidating to write, for me, because I know I am not nearly as clever as he is.
