A visitor A visitor to my balcony on the 2nd of September. I don't often get birds of any sort -- the last were a pair of doves.

I think it might have been a juvenile blue jay. Unfortunately, bird identification isn't my best skill, and most of my experience is with southwestern birds anyway.

I'll agree with you, that looks like a juvenile blue jay to me, too. Our blue jays love peanuts, they squirrel them away for the winter. Why not tempt him back with some nuts?
