Well, this is frustrating (internet connection exist?)

My desktop abruptly stopped connecting to the internet last night, even though my laptop and Kindle use it just fine... and it swears up and down in the settings that it's connected to the internet.

So I guess that's some sort of configuration issue? I'm going to look around at help fora, but if nothing works, I guess I'll have to call Verizon tech support... D:

Check your firewall in whatever anti-virus software you use - that's often been the problem for me.

Has your Windows upgraded itself lately?

(Every time a major upgrade comes out, it resets all our internal network settings to their defaults, and we have to go through the rigmarole of giving each other sharing permission all over again.)
