Writing wittering...
I've gotten my artist for the
sassy_minibang and my posting date (December 13th), so all I need to do is revise and expand. Which means getting together with my alpha readers and deciding where the story is desperately thin and needs to be improved before I really start churning out the verbage.
I'm trying to figure out what plot I'm using for the
gabriel_bigbang story. It's either going to be the future-fic story where the Shurleyites (followers of the Winchester Gospels) use angels as the CPU-and-engine for their space ships -- since angelic teleportation equals FTL drive -- or it might be the Hobgoblin story. The problem with both these ideas is that Gabriel is not a prominent POV until at least a third of the way into the story in either plot, because I need a lot of set-up to make the plot for each make sense. eta: I could also do that take on The Descent of Inanna, which would be some weird combo of Gabriel, Kali, Sam, and Eve... apparently what I really want to write is blasphemy fic... I've also looked at the prompts post, but nothing is pinging me. Any have an idea that they really think I should write? I can't promise anything, but I'm willing to entertain prompts...
I'm tempted to sign up for the Reverse Bang tier of the
1upona_sabriel because while I can't really think of a fairy tale that I'd love to turn into a Sam/Gabriel story, if I had an art prompt to work from, I might be able to make it work -- and I work best with a deadline.

There are two stories that I remember you starting forever ago that maybe your muse might be inspired to finish one of them for either BB.
One was that "The Apotheosis of Sam Winchester" http://neotoma.dreamwidth.org/215465.html?#cutid2
And I remember reading a small snippet based off this prompt:
~Season 4: Demons capture one of the children of Loki and the Angels send the Winchesters to kill the demons and the captured god.
But no one counted on Loki himself showing up with a trick up his sleeve and a message upon his tongue. "You brought my kids into this fight, your ass is grass"
quote is not needed.~
If you need more ideas I can look through a bunch of the other prompt posts for various BB's and prompt challenges. Then leave you links to them?

I keep telling myself this, and yet I am making next to no progress. :-( I really should recruit an extra beta, maybe more than one, because I've reached that stage where I feel as if I've been staring at this story so long I can't actually see it any more.
If you do one of those plots for the Gabriel bang, can you deal with his absence from the first third of the main plot by giving him something else to be doing? IDK, getting resurrected, or hanging around in Ancient Egypt Tricking a Pharoah, or something? So we get some fun reading with Gabriel involved, and meanwhile every now and then you show us this other plot thread where things are getting worse and worse/more and more intense and we're seeing that it's going to be a huge mess/adventure when Gabriel finally shows up there? (Does that make any sense?)
As far as fairytales go, the only thing that leaps immediately to mind is Rumplestiltskin. But there are bound to be other Trickster-like characters in fairytales, which you could reveal to have been Gabriel all along...
