The third bad thing..?

Not only do I have an annoying cold, but today I had to refuse the prescription the doctor gave me because it would have been $132 for cough medicine! Apparently the drug she prescribed is odd enough that they don't make a generic for it anymore. I can't afford to spend that much on something that isn't an anti-biotic or otherwise critical to my health.

Instead I bought some strong over the counter meds that the pharmacist recommended.

But I came home to find all the raspberries I'd planned to make into ice cream base tonight *fuzzy*. I think the refridgerator is dying. It certainly doesn't feel cool when I opened it -- admittedly my ability to sense cold is quite probably screwed up, but I'm going to have to call the housing office tomorrow and complain. This especially annoying because I just bought cream and milk to make ice cream for the holidays. If I have to throw out all the perishable food, I'm out a lot of money...

your doctor is stupid. my doctor always feels out how much drug coverage i have before he prescribes anything and then prescribes something that I can AFFORD.

I hope you get better soon.

What's the cough medicine? Could your doc prescribe something like Tessalon perles instead? They're readily available in generic, and they work like nothing else I've ever tried. Just don't bite them; you'll paralyse your throat and suffocate. (I know this not from first-hand experience, btw.)
